9 Precious stones that adorned the King of Tyre, Ezekiel 28:13


You were in Eden, the garden of God; 
every precious stone adorned you:

carnelian,
chrysolite
and emerald,
topaz,
onyx
and jasper,
lapis lazuli,
turquoise
and beryl.

Your settings and mountings were made of gold; on the day you were created they were prepared.

10 Fathers with wicked sons

  1. NOAH … had Ham (judged for sexual sin) and two other sons (not praised)
  2. ABRAHAM … had Ishmael (scornful rebel unbeliever) and six other sons (not praised)
  3. ISAAC … Esau was a fool and a reprobate, his twin Jacob had his own issues but came to faith
  4. ELI … God’s high priest did not stop his two terrible sons from acting wickedly
  5. SAMUEL … saw Eli’s parenting faults and judgment but had two sons much like Eli’s
  6. DAVID … the man after God’s own heart had no known faithful children except Solomon who backslid
  7. SOLOMON … the man who wrote much about child training had no known good children
  8. JOTHAM … the son of Uzziah was a good king but his son Ahaz was a very wicked king
  9. HEZEKIAH … one of Judah’s best kings had the worst king of Judah as his son – Manasseh
  10. JOSIAH ... None of his sons appear to have been godly

3 References to left-handed Benjaminites


Several have pointed out that the only references to left-handed people in the Bible are to people from the tribe of Benjamin, whose name ironically means, son of my right hand. The refernces are positive not pejorative.

Judges 3:15 Ehud Again the Israelites cried out to the LORD, and he gave them a deliverer - Ehud, a left-handed man, the son of Gera the Benjamite. The Israelites sent him with tribute to Eglon king of Moab.
Judges 700 Benjaminite specialists 20:16 Among all these soldiers there were seven hundred select troops who were left-handed, each of whom could sling a stone at a hair and not miss.
1 Chronicles 12:1, 2 Relatives of Saul who served David These were the men who came to David at Ziklag, while he was banished from the presence of Saul son of Kish (they were among the warriors who helped him in battle;  they were armed with bows and were able to shoot arrows or to sling stones right-handed or left-handed; they were relatives of Saul from the tribe of Benjamin):
