3 Steps when dealing with a divisive person, Titus 3:10,11

Titus 3:10, 11

Warn a divisive person once,
and then warn them a second time.
After that, have nothing to do with them. You may be sure that such people are warped and sinful; they are self-condemned.

4 Things to avoid with a reason in Titus 3:9

Titus 3:9

But avoid

foolish controversies
and genealogies
and arguments
and quarrels about the law,

because these are unprofitable and useless.

7 things Titus is to remind the people of in 3:1, 2

Titus 3:1, 2

Remind the people

to be subject to rulers and authorities,
to be obedient,
to be ready to do whatever is good,
to slander no one,
to be peaceable
and considerate,
and always to be gentle toward everyone.

5 things older women should teach younger women as stated in Titus 2

Titus 2:4, 5
Then they (older women) can urge the younger women to

love their husbands and children,
to be self-controlled and pure,
to be busy at home,
to be kind,
and to be subject to their husbands,

so that no one will malign the word of God.

4 things older women should be taught by Titus, see 2:3

Titus 2:3
Likewise, teach the older women to be

reverent in the way they live,
not to be slanderers
or addicted to much wine,
but to teach what is good.

6 things older men should be taught by Titus, see 2:2, 3

Titus 2:2, 3
Teach the older men to be

temperate,
worthy of respect,
self-controlled,
and sound in faith,
in love
and in endurance.

4 categories of church member Titus is to teach (2:2-6)

Titus 2:2-6
Teach the older men to be
temperate, worthy of respect, self-controlled, and sound in faith, in love and in endurance.
Likewise, teach the older women to be
reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good.
Then they can urge the younger women to
love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.
Similarly, encourage the young men to be self-controlled. In everything set them an example by doing what is good.

4 People mentioned at the end of Titus

Titus 3:12-15

Artemas, Tychicus
As soon as I send Artemas or Tychicus to you, do your best to come to me at Nicopolis, because I have decided to winter there.
Zenas, Apollos
13  Do everything you can to help Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their way and see that they have everything they need.
14, 15  Our people must learn to devote themselves to doing what is good, in order to provide for urgent needs and not live unproductive lives.  Everyone with me sends you greetings. Greet those who love us in the faith. Grace be with you all.

7 qualifications for deacons as found in Titus 3

Titus 3:8-13 In the same way, deacons are to be

worthy of respect,
sincere,
not indulging in much wine,
and not pursuing dishonest gain.
They must keep hold of the deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience.
They must first be tested; and then if there is nothing against them, let them serve as deacons.

In the same way, the women are to be worthy of respect, not malicious talkers but temperate and trustworthy in everything.

A deacon must be faithful to his wife and must manage his children and his household well.

Those who have served well gain an excellent standing and great assurance in their faith in Christ Jesus.

15 qualifications for elders as set out in Titus 1

Titus 1:6-9 An elder must be blameless,
faithful to his wife,
a man whose children believe and are not open to the charge of being wild and disobedient.
Since an overseer manages God’s household, he must be blameless
- not overbearing,
not quick-tempered,
not given to drunkenness,
not violent,
not pursuing dishonest gain.
Rather, he must be hospitable,
one who loves what is good,
who is self-controlled,
upright,
holy
and disciplined.
He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it.
