2 - some more examples from the New Testament

  1. Two men dressed in white who suddenly stood beside the disciples at the ascension (Acts 1:10)
  2. Two men (Joseph called Barsabbas (also known as Justus) and Matthias) who were nominated as possible replacements for Judas (Acts 1:23)
  3. Two men who were sent from Joppa to Lydda to ask Peter to come to them (Acts 9:38)
  4. Two soldiers who were either side of Peter, bound with two chains, the night before he was due for trial (Acts 12:6)
  5. Two years is the length of time Paul peached in Ephesus, lecturing in the Hall of Tyrannus (Acts 19:10)
  6. Two hours is the length of time they shouted in unison in Ephesus "Great is Artemis of the Ephesians!" (Acts 19:34)
  7. Two years is the length of time Paul was in prison until Porcius Festus replaced Felix as governor (Acts 24:27)
  8. Two years is the length of time Paul stayed in his own rented house in Rome, welcoming all who came to see him (Acts 28:30)

2 - some examples from the New Testament

  1. Two demon possessed men delivered by Jesus in Gadara (Matthew 8:28)
  2. Two blind men healed by Jesus (Matthew 9:27) and another two later (Matthew 20:30)
  3. Two sons in the parables of the two sent to work in the vineyard and of the prodigal son (Matthew 21, Luke 15) and two men who went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector (Luke 17)
  4. Two by two - how the disciples were sent out on mission (Mark 6:7, etc)
  5. Two disciples sent to get the donkey for Jesus to ride on (Luke 19:29, etc) and two sent to prepare the upper room (Mark 14:13, etc)
  6. Two denarii, the money left with the innkeeper by the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:35) and two very small copper coins put into the collection by a poor widow (Luke 21:2, etc)
  7. Two people referred to in reference to his coming - two people will be in one bed and one taken and the other left; two women grinding grain together and one taken and the other left and two men in the fields too. (Luke 17, etc).
  8. Two swords - the number of weapons the disciples had near the time of Jesus's arrest (Luke 22:38)
  9. Two criminals were crucified either side of Jesus (John 19:18, etc)
  10. Two angels who sat where Jesus' body had been, one at the head, one at the foot (John 20:12)
(Also, two days - the time Jesus stayed with the Samaritans and that he waited before going to Lazarus (John 4:40, 11:6))
